5. Follow steps 1 - 4 for each source you use, putting each source on a separate index card. The

first documentation card is labeled "A", the second documentation card is labeled "B", the third is "C",

    etc.

Example

A

Moore, I.P.  Modern Italy. New York:

           McGraw-Hill, 1996.

6. When all your sources are on documentation cards, put the cards in alphabetical order by the very first

word on each card. If the first word on the card is "A", "An", or "The", alphabetize by the second word.

All different kinds of sources go into this one alphabetical order.

7. Begin on a new page and write in your normal heading. Write "Works Cited Page" in the center of the

paper about 1 inch down from the top of the page. Copy all the information from your cards beginning

at the left hand margin and filling up each line across the page before going on to the next line. Indent

1/2 inch at the beginning of each line after the first line. This makes the first line standout.

Double-space each line of information. Double space between sources.

Do not number or label your sources in any way.

8. Make a copy of your report and Works Cited Page. Put these copies and your notecards in a safe place

until you have received your final grade.
